About the Site

..and how to get involved

The structure of this site provides a variety of paths to a common destination:  a set of 8 problem type definitions organized into 3 general domains (the colored boxes at the bottom). It is designed for those facing significant problems (executives, managers, project managers, engineers, etc.) as well as those who help others in addressing their problems (consultants, facilitators, mediators, therapists).

There are 4 general avenues for approaching the problem types: as a leader, as someone facing classic organizational challenges, through a review of the problem solving process in general, or just to dive in directly.

Beyond its content, this site is (hopefully) a catalyst for ongoing research into the nature of problem solving. There are a few ways we hope you might want to get involved in the conversations.  There are some current research activities that might also interest you; you might want to participate, or just get the results.

This site is the brainchild of Jerry L. Talley, although the content is the result of ongoing collaboration with Dan Madison and Geoff Ball, each of whom have their own organizational improvement practice.
